Salvete de Venetiā

Hello from Venice! We're here! Fifteen hours, two airplanes, one bus, and good ol' fashion donkey hoofing, and we've made it to our cute accommodation in Venice. When we arrived at the lane our near the was on we were met with the kindest man named Marcello, the proprietor of the accommodation. He showed us around the cute little space and explained (in amazing English for an 82 year old man born and raised in Venice) the quirks and things to look out for regarding the space. He capped the time by buying us tiny little tart sized pizzas and a coffee. They were really tasty, and after some restaurant advice he bade us ciao.  After we freshened up we wandered out.

Today we are going to wander around some more and in the afternoon we have a tour with Walks of Italy that will take us into St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace!
